Slovakia is solving the catalyst case in a big way: Did they steal it or find it? VIDEO from the incident, clear words from the police!
The whole thing happened on Monday during the day at the largest housing estate in Bratislava – Petržalka. In one of the parking lots in front of the apartment buildings, he captured the occupants of a block of flats and filmed a remarkable situation. There were two men under the older blue SUV. Shortly afterwards, you can see in the video how one of them gets up from under the car and hands something to the men in the passenger seat. The video also shows another man looking around and seems to be “guarding”. In a few seconds, you can see how he picks up the catalytic converter from under the car, which he sets in his car and they run away from the place at lightning speed. Video from the crime scene is on major social networks.

What he did not expect, however, the next day the men went to the police in Border Square and carried one lost catalyst in their hands. He was taken to the district department of the police force in Petržalka and was testified. JOJ television was waiting for them in front of the police, but also the founder of the HAKA association, which is in search of missing cars – Štefan Farkaš. And as he needed, Farkaš’s men explained that they had not stolen any catalyst, they had already found a demon under the car.
“We are not dependent on us to steal. No one in our life has seen us steal. We are decent citizens, do you think I would be dependent on me to steal a catalyst for 89 euros? We did not rush from the place if I country, so I have a veil and a hat, ” said one of the men in front of the police building. As he further explained, he came from under the car to take it so that no one would steal it and hand him over to the police. however, late on Monday night, they called the police to announce that they had pulled the fallen catalytic converter from under the car in question. It absorbs exhaust gases from the engine in the cars, thanks to which the cars do not produce thick black smoke. It is for these reasons that they have been stealing a lot in recent times.
As the men explained, they are all properly employed and working properly with the purchase of catalytic converters, paying all insurance properly. “We were eating as we passed, so we saw that the catalytic converter was down. The car was tall. We wanted to prevent it from being stolen, so we took it.” the men claim that they did not lie under the car. They are said to be sorry for the whole affair. According to them, through an unnamed person, they managed to find contact with the owner of the vehicle, whom they subsequently called and informed him about the whole situation. “He said he had no reason to file a criminal complaint against us,” one of the men explained.
They then took it to the police, testified and went home. Topky.sk informed how the police are dealing with the matter. And we got a surprising answer. “In the case mentioned by you, an authorized member of the District Directorate of the Bratislava V. Police Force initiated criminal proceedings in the matter of the offense of the Region. said Silvia Šimková, a spokeswoman for the Bratislava police.
However, the whole thing is even more tangled. According to Topky.sk, the men were supposed to “insure” themselves on Monday night and write a fictitious contract with the owner of the car with the missing catalytic converter. They published a photo of the contract for the sale of a car for 150 euros on the social network. Subsequently, they had to claim that the car belonged to them and did not steal the catalytic converter. However, they made it clear in their statement that they had contacted the owner of the vehicle and that he “has no reason to file a criminal complaint against them”.
Subsequently, they no longer commented on the car sales contract and pretended that it did not exist. However, it is questionable how they got information about the owner of the car and the car itself. Many Slovaks, who did not believe the story, commented on the case on the social network. It is said that the video shows one of the men lying under the car with which he had the catalyst dismantled.
