Monaco’s new ambassador to Germany condemns military aggression in Ukraine
Tuesday, June 21, Lorenzo Ravano, new ambassador presented his credentials to the German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
Following the Credentials Presentation Ceremony, Lorenzo Ravano and Frank-Walter Steinmeier met privately. During the interview, the new Monaco Ambassador recalled Prince Albert II’s condemnation of military aggression in Ukraine, his call for a ceasefire and respect for international law and the territorial integrity of States . He also reaffirmed the systematic application of international sanctions against Russia and the humanitarian support from the Monegasque Red Cross and civil society in the Principality, both by sending relief materials and by hosting several Ukrainian families in Monaco.
The German President, for his part, cited the Sovereign’s commitment to protecting the environment and preserving the oceans.
Lorenzo Ravano and Frank-Walter Steinmeier both want to strengthen relations and cooperation between the two countries in the diplomatic, economic and cultural fields. With this in mind, the Ambassador informed the President that in 2023, the 50th anniversary of the creation of the German International Club of Monaco will be held.
