Helsinki Shipyard announces the acquisition of Swan Hellenic’s SH Vegan
Helsinki Shipyard, having received bids for the NB 517 auction, announced today that Swan Hellenic has won the bid, according to a press release.
Helsinki Shipyard exercised its right under the shipbuilding agreement to sell the ship by tender after the original buyer had not received the ship.
The auction ended at midnight on June 24 and was satisfactory for Helsinki Shipyard, which analyzed the bids and declared Swan Hellenic the winner. The sale price was not named.
As expected, the vessel will be delivered to Swan Hellenic as soon as all Bahamas registration formalities have been completed, and Swan Hellenic will become the sole owner of SH Vega, which will launch the cruises in July.
Andrea Zito, CEO of Swan Hellenic, said: “We are delighted to secure the SH Vegan, a Polar-class PC5 with the latest technology and durability and scheduled for launch in July. We look forward to welcoming our guests to SHVega to experience our cultural expeditions starting on July 20 from Tromsø, Norway.
