After Vikingland, the Debrecen band will also take the Baltics
One of the most popular formations in Debrecen, the musicians of the Bordeaux Dragon, recently fulfilled an unusual invitation. The band reached the world’s largest Viking festival for the seventh time. The conductor Dolmann Roland recently told the Diary about the curiosities of a traditional meeting in Avaldsnes, Norway.
Everything is true to age
The Vikings of the 21st century gather every year in June in the open-air museum built on the archeopark of the town, where music and dance played the main role for four days. The festival is strictly authentic, which means it is characterized by age-oldness, be it the environment, the attire, the accommodation or the Viking customs. They slept in tents, the “Vikings” cooked in a cauldron. Fans may know they shot a video of Avaldsnes in the same place three years ago for one of the compositions on their third album.
For the sake of the contemporary atmosphere, the Bordeaux Dragon also played acoustically in Avaldsnes, playing dance melodies, his own and European music, as well as Hungarian folk songs as part of the fair entertainment. At the international meeting, more than seventy thousand people could hear and get to know the musicians of Debrecen, who will entertain almost all the schools of the county for four days, and then the adults in the following days, with no success, because according to the report, Nordic people love Hungarian music.
Another tour, another clip
This is not the last foreign appearance of the county’s favorite dragons in the summer season; as we have learned, after the Norwegian trip, the band will soon take over the Baltics as well. They will be performing at a total of four festivals in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in the two weeks of July, where they will be on stage not only on stage but also in front of the cameras for another video clip. The next time you can see the Bordeaux Dragon at the Debrecen audience is at the Campus Festival.
