A unique exhibition of Mucha is starting in Prague. The main attraction is the Slavic epic
Already on Tuesday, people can visit a unique exhibition of Alfons Mucha’s work in the Prague Castle Riding Hall. The biggest attraction for visitors will be the modern projection of the Slavonic Epic. The 3D animation is approaching the history of Slavic nations and will be something you would not see in detail with the eye.
The name of Alfons Mucha’s unique exhibition of paintings is eMotion. “It’s a lot about emotions, that is, about the immersive experience. We managed to create a 3D effect. So you really feel like you’re entering the picture,” said exhibition producer Richard Fuxa.
At the Zbiroh chateau, Mucha created large-format canvases for almost 18 years, which became a jewel of Czech culture. The Slavic Epic is the masterpiece of Alfons Mucha, and it is in the Prague Castle Riding Hall that all 20 paintings can be seen, which are constantly in motion thanks to modern technologies.
“Each Slavic epic is divided into more than 40 segments. This means that we are able to place the individual segments in space,” said Michal Dvořák, creative director of the exhibition and author of the project.
People can see the shadows, color, but also the brush strokes themselves. “The images are gradually shifting,” Fuxa added. For example, digitized posters or stained glass from the Church of St. Vitus can be seen at the exhibition.
According to his granddaughter, Alfons Mucha would be thrilled. “I think he would definitely like it, because he was also an innovator,” confided Jarmila Mucha Plocková.
People can view moving images every day from Tuesday to September 13th.
