Presented Drappellone by Emma Sergeant for the Palio di Siena – Tuscany
Made by the English painter for the career of 2 July
(ANSA) – SIENA, JUN 26 – Applause for the banner for the Palio di Siena which takes place on 2 July after a two-year break due to the pandemic, signed by the English painter Emma Sergeant.
The ‘rag’ was presented tonight in the Cortile del Podestà of Palazzo Pubblico, in the presence of the mayor Luigi De Mossi, and is an elegant figurative work, in which the skilful gouche hatching enhances the representation giving life to that union between sacred and profane that the Palio of Siena is able to create.
Of great visual impact, explains a note, the head of a horse that dominates the whole central part. The true and only protagonist of the Sienese festival.
