Twice a week, on Tuesdays and Sundays, Jazeera Airways’ Airbus A320Neo will carry passengers between Prague and Kuwait. The direct connection between the two countries will thus open Prague to a part of the Persian Gulf with considerable potential for inbound tourism.

Kuwait is a rather unknown locality for the inhabitants of the Czech Republic. At the same time, he has only one thing. Art thrives here, for example, in the capital there is a beautiful cultural center of Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad with the largest opera stage in the Middle East. It was built together with the entire art district. Another unique feature – the Sultan’s Gallery – was the first professional art gallery in the Persian Gulf. Today, Kuwait has about thirty.

“A direct line to Kuwait will allow Czech tourists easy access to this interesting country, famous for its cosmopolitan character, or it can serve as a transfer point to more distant destinations such as India. Not only Prague can be attractive for passengers from Kuwait, but also the West Bohemian spa triangle, which was inscribed on the UNESCO list of cultural heritage last year, “says Jiří Pos, Chairman of the Board of Prague Airport, adding:” Before the pandemic, without direct air connections 12 thousand people in both directions, with direct air connections this number can increase significantly. “

On the occasion of the May meeting with representatives of travel agencies and other business partners, the Czech Ambassador to Kuwait Jaroslav Siro stated: “This line strengthens relations between the Czech Republic and Kuwait and new opportunities for further growth in tourism, opening, healthcare and trade. There is so much to discover in the Czech Republic and this new line will significantly help. We look forward to welcoming Jazeera Airways customers to our country, and we look forward to continuing to promote everything that the rich Czech capital and the rest of the country can find for visitors. “

Jazeera Airways is Kuwait’s leading low-cost airline operating in the Middle East, Asia and Europe, operating commercial and cargo flights from Terminal T5 at Kuwait International Airport. The airline flies to more than 50 popular destinations in the Middle East, Central and South Asia, Africa and Europe, which include highly sought-after business, leisure and weekend destinations.

“We are very pleased to launch this new line to Prague and the Czech Republic for the summer season and give our customers a greater opportunity to enjoy a holiday full of activities and cultural experiences with family or friends. Demand for unique tourist destinations is very high after two years of travel restrictions, ”says Jazeera Airways CEO Rohit Ramachandran.

“The air connection from Kuwait is very good news for inbound tourism, which we are working hard to restore. The Middle East region has strong potential and generates an interesting tourism segment. For this reason, we decided to support new routes from the Middle East not only with a marketing campaign, but also with a series of sightseeing trips (so-called fam trips) for representatives of Kuwaiti outgoing travel agencies, but also for leading Kuwaiti influencers. The main goal is to connect and interest in the Czech Republic also to get a new one with a regular year-round frequency, “says Jan Herget, director of CzechTourism, adding:” Flexibility of visas is essential for the success of the Kuwait route. “
