Portugal returns to action on the 1st of July, in the third qualifying window for the 2023 World Cup, against Hungary.
The Portuguese basketball team said goodbye to the Viana do Castelo International Tournament with a triumph against Ukraine (77-76), after having spent almost the entire match behind the marker.
The match went to halftime with an 11-point difference (38-49) and, in regaining the lead of the game, Ukraine maintained the lead of the game, however, in the last 10 minutes, the good defensive work of Mário Gomes, Nuno Manarte and Sérgio Ramos limited the eastern counterpart to just eight points, while the Portuguese scored 21 and took the victory through Miguel Queiroz at the entrance to the last minute of the match.
“The teams never held hands and the same with a constant low of strength in the match was resilient to delay the victory close to the final minutes of the game”, highlighted the Portuguese Basketball Federation (FPB)
