Attack on the country’s energy consultancy
Business
While energy continues to become more expensive, Russia is cutting gas supplies to Austria. And more and more are afraid of a total power failure, the so-called blackout. This leads to a rush to the energy advice of the state of Salzburg and to long waiting times.
The 45-person energy consulting team in the state experienced the greatest rush last March with 1,100 inquiries – twice as many as in classic peak times, says Georg Thor, head of energy consulting.
Conversations are also possible via Skype
Most clients had questions about replacing the heating system or a photovoltaic system. Many inquiries could be answered quickly by telephone. It is also used for energy advice via Skype, according to Thor. If you would like to have a personal consultation appointment at your home, you should expect a waiting time of two months.
From ordering a renewable heating system to installation, a lot of patience is again required. Due to the great demand, nothing can be done at short notice, the expert emphasizes. Georg Thor knows from discussions with his energy consultants that boiler manufacturers, for example, could only deliver the devices they have ordered in 2023.
Experts expect the number of inquiries to double
The state’s energy consultancy is now expecting a record year. Before the lockdowns, there were around 3,000 inquiries per year. In 2022 it will probably be twice as many, it is said.
