1. FC Bocholt lands at the start of a coup at Fortuna Cologne
Regional league promoted 1. FC Bocholt celebrates a win at Fortuna Cologne in the first friendly.
Good goalkeeper performance
At the end of the first week of preparation, the first test against an ambitious opponent took place: Fortuna Köln was involved in the front ranks for a long time last season and will again be one of the top teams in the regional league in the coming season. But the team Markus von Ahlen did not have the best day against the away drivers, at least in the front third. Bocholt goalkeeper Gian-Luca Reck, recently signedand Jonas Scholz performs well and kept their box clean. The decision in favor of the Winking-Elf brought routine Markus Beckert ten minutes after being substituted on (70th). “The game was good to find out where there are gaps. We had to face a lot of pressing situations. Mistakes are punished very differently than in the Oberliga. We defended well and kept getting counterattacks,” Winking explained in the club media.
Of course, 1. FC Bocholt will take this sense of achievement with them before their (test) game of the year, because the Bundesliga club will be making a guest appearance next week VfL Bochum for the guest performance at the Hünting (2 July, 2 p.m.).
Note on the line-up: As usual in preparation, the clubs have not published their full matchday squad, which is why neither the starting XI nor the substitutes are complete.
