The Nosferatu company will play “An Operetta at Ravensbrück” at the Festival Off d’Avignon
The Nosferatu company will play every day at 10:30 a.m. except Tuesdays (school break) at the Off d’Avignon festival (July 7-26), “une Opérette à Ravensbrück” at the famous Avignon theater “le chien qui fume” .
Nosferatu is a performance company deployed in Puy-en-Velay which shines today on a national scale thanks to works highlighting the fight of personalities fighting for just causes.
She knew how to make people talk about her, in particular thanks to the show “A plates coutures” inspired by Carole Thibaut honoring the fight and the hard work of the former Lejaby workers. But also to the work “Darling” inspired by the novel by Jean Teulé, who recognized merit in the work provided by Claudine Van Beneden, in her role as director and actress.
Nosferatu strives to pay tribute to personalities who have marked history, those who fought for rights and for a meteoric advance in French mentalities.
Today, the Altiligerian company is taking part in the Festival d’Avignon, in order to share its work “Une Opérette à Ravensbrück” straight out of the writings of Germaine Tillion, an honorable woman who was deported to the Ravensbrück camp, who knew how to make people talk about her through the world thanks to her strength to live, to her way of resisting without suffering, to her laughter in the face of the terrible living conditions that they and their comrades had to endure during the deportations of the Second World War. Claudine Van Beneden offers a staging without taboos, a mixture of laughter and tears that will awaken consciences, and this duty of memory that we must still and always honor.
