San Marino beats Bologna in the third extra inning, many intergirone emotions – OA Sport

Sugar Mizzy June 24, 2022

They say intergirone, they say great emotions and above all they say San Marino against Fortitudo Bologna. At Gianni Falchi, however, it is the San Marino team that prevails. Despite the result, today’s game is really close: long, vibrant, total, worthy of a championship final.

First to go ahead is UnipolSai, with Josephina’s single point in the third inning. Leonora replies to the sixth, pushing Celli home, previously the protagonist of a brilliant double. We go to the extra inning. Indeed, not just one: it takes three to decide the whole question. The relief Gonzalez, on the tenth round, is literally overwhelmed by the attack of the Titan, which unloads five points on him, four of which come from Oscar Angulo’s grand slam. Gonzalez’s single defines the final score: 6-2 for San Marino.

In the other matches of the day, Turin’s spectacular success against Nettuno 1945 is to be recorded. A 6-4, this, which keeps the Piedmontese in 2nd place in group B. It is the Lazio players who immediately go ahead with a double from Trinci, a single from Garbella and a crazy throw. Giarola reacts with a 1-3 home run. Inexorably, between the 4th and 6th inning it is Oldano and Giarola who govern the Turin recovery, which is resolved in the aforementioned final score.

Parma manages to replay, after having had to deal with Covid-19, against Grosseto: at Jannella it ends 3-1 for Spirulina Becagli, who takes advantage of Barcelan’s double-point at the opening, of the crazy pitch that leads to Francesco Vaglio and the other double from Herrera Torrez. The start of Astorri in the 6th inning was useless. On the other hand, the success of Collecchio on Godo: a clear 7-1 gained all in the second half of the match.

Results for Friday 24th June:

UnipolSai Bologna – San Marino (h. 20), 2-6; Campidonico Turin – Neptune 1945, 6-4; Hort @ Godo – Camec Collecchio (h.20.30), 1-7; Spirulina Becagli Grosseto – Parmaclima, 3-1
