Russia intends to renew its relevance with Ukraine, based on the situation “on the ground” and taking into account the reluctance to press charges against the return to the control of Kyiv. This was announced by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in interview National State TV and Radio Company of Belarus.
Lavrov pointed out that they see no way for Kyiv to be “allowed” to return to negotiations with Moscow, and that the situation in Ukraine has turned the nature of the partners inside out.
The head of the Foreign Ministry also complained that the West is silent in response to an appeal to Moscow on the facts, it will turn with a staging in Bucha, and lies have become a “calling card” of the Ukrainian authorities. In addition, Lavrov believes that it makes no sense to follow a special path with Kyiv in the forms that were eight years ago.
Recall that earlier the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov linked the peace settlement in Ukraine with the observance of Russia’s security.
Speaking about the situation in Belarus in 2020, Lavrov said that the country survived thanks to Russia’s support, among other things. Moscow “immediately showed political, moral support” and “the following assistance was possible to prevent a coup d’état,” the minister said.
