Autobiographical dive for the Japanese designer Shikama Hideaki who, for his label children of discordpays a moving tribute to the city of Yokohama, the Japanese home of American culture, where he was born and raised in the 90s.

AREA AREA, title of the collection after the song of Ozrosaurus, a hip-hop group from Yokohama, depicts the youth of Shikama in this port city which was one of the first Japanese ports to open to foreign trade in the 1850s. Much encouraged by the American subculture, Yokohama saw the hip-hop movement popularize in the 90s, and with it skateboarding, surfing, lowriding and graffiti.
Camouflage-effect graffiti, the result of a collaboration with graffiti artist Sui, was splashed onto an anorak and workwear trouser combo. Graffiti has also been declined in patches on a bomber or printed on t-shirts.
Other key motifs in the collection, and signatures of Shikama Hideaki: the patchwork and the bandana. The former is deployed over ensembles or found in detail on the front of jeans or all the way down the side leg of trousers while the latter flourishes over a shirt or cotton bomber when it is not worn. is not used to make oversized pants or t-shirts.
