The opposition is shelling the Prague leadership over IT contracts, trying to recall Hřiba
The Prague City Council met at an extraordinary meeting on Monday due to the Dosimeter case, which concerns a transport company.
Opposition deputies who initiated the meeting have been shelling the city council and mayor Zdeněk Hřiba (Pirates) since the beginning. They criticize not only what is happening in the city company, but also IT contracts at the municipality, which, according to politicians from the ANO and ODS movements, are suspicious.
He claims that some of the companies that have won million orders in recent years are associated with businessman Pavel Dovhomilja, according to the police of one of the actors in the Dosimeter case.
Mayor Mushroom rejected the Pirates’ mistake. “We have no above-standard relationship with Mr. Dovhomilj, because it was only for us when the municipality canceled his contract. The agreement was concluded during the government of the YES movement in 2017, “he said. “You gave him a contract, we canceled it. I don’t understand what you use for above-standard relationships. “
According to the opposition, however, the details of IT contracts indicate the opposite. “There are many more mafia tentacles under the Pirates. It needs to be discussed and investigated, “said Ondřej Prokop, the chairman of the Prague ANO, at the council meeting.
The opposition demands an audit to verify IT contracts. The audit vote has so far been included on the agenda.
An attempt to dismiss the mayor
If the magistrate coalition does not immediately clarify the contract, according to the representatives, YES is in place to dismiss the mayor. An attempt to recall Hřiby already on Sunday in an interview for iRozhlas advised by Patrik Nacher (YES).
“We will suggest this if the mayor does not explain well the new circumstances that have been voiced here today regarding IT contracts. These are relatively strong claims that the accusation in the Dosimeter case was a connection with the IT department, which is directly under the mayor, “Prokop said on Monday.
“If such a proposal is made by Patrik Nacher, we have already voted in favor of the proposal to dismiss the mayor at the last council meeting. So, if it fell, we could recommend it, “said Zdeněk Zajíček, chairman of the ODS club in Prague.
However, Prokop added that the opposition does not have an absolute majority. “Even if YES and the ODS unite, there is no vote for it, so we will look for support in the Pirates’ Club, Prague Soba and the United Forces, which I hope will be self-reflection,” he added.
