Australia takes World Cup of Darts title, 3rd place for the Netherlands
Simon Whitlock and Damon Heta have won Australia’s World Cup of Darts. In the final they won 3-1 against Wales with Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton losing their singles but still winning a couple. It turned out to be a stay of execution that started Heta in his second single toe.
The men dedicated the title to their compatriot Kyle Anderson afterwards in an unforgettable moment.
The semi-finals were the final station for the Netherlands. Gerwyn Price won in the singles against Danny Noppert and Jonny Clayton was greatly improved for Dirk van Duijvenbode so that they no longer got around to the couples.
Australia also came for a couples game in the semi-final against England. Damon Heta won 4-3 against Michael Smith and James Wade was beaten 4-0 by Simon Whitlock.
