NTV’s new archery range opened in Hanover
In the Corona crisis, many people found individual sports. The Nordstädter Turn – Verein presents a new archery range. Half of the “Summer Mission” initiative. That should be celebrated.
north town The Corona crisis was a time of searching for Christian Wiebrock. Because the 48-year-old wanted to work electrically despite the pandemic and discovered archery. “But there were no suitable offers in the northern districts of Hanover,” says the extended skilled worker. So he researched, founded a Facebook group for like-minded people and came across the grounds of the Nordstädter Turn-Verein (NTV). Wiebrock got into conversation with the board – and was now able to invite interested archers to the first training session. “The place is simply ideal,” says Wiebrock.
The “Summer Use” initiative helped to finance the new archery facility. The HAZ and the FOUNDATION Sparda-Bank Hannover support small associations in the Hannover region with craft projects. Volunteers constructed a wooden shelter for the archers. A backstop netting was also installed. During training, the participants aim at classic targets. “The new shelter can also be used as a cinema screen on late summer evenings,” says Wiebrock.
