Covid-19: contamination is racing in Luxembourg
Updated weekly by the Ministry of Health, the health situation in Luxembourg linked to the Covid-19 epidemic saw the number of contaminations increase over the period from June 6 to 12.
The latest weekly report from the Luxembourg Ministry of Health, relating to Covid-19, shows rather worrying statistics. Between June 6 and June 12, no less than 2,824 people tested positive (compared to 1,934 for information during the previous week), i.e. a 46% increase in contamination. The average age of those who tested positive is 39 years old.
Among the elements that can help to understand this rapid progression, the number of PCR tests carried out over this period, 9,289, or almost 1,000 more than during the previous week (8,212). On his side, incidence rate is he past at 438 cases per 100,000 inhabitants over the days, against 300 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for the previous week.
No additional pressure in the hospital
If it is unfortunately to deplore a death because of the Covid between June 6 and June 12, an 82-year-old person, the pressure remains rather refused on the hospitals of the country.
The Ministry of Health is in fact responsible six new admissions of patients affected by the epidemic over the period (compared to three the previous week). These patients are cared for in conventional care units. No change, however, in intensive care where only one patient is currently admitted.
A vaccination rate of 78.8%
As of June 13, 1,283,839 doses of vaccines were administered in Luxembourg, including 1,586 last week. In total, today 473,684 people have a complete vaccination schedule, a number corresponding to 78.8% of the so-called “vaccinable” population of Luxembourg.
For those wishing to be vaccinated, in first, second injection or booster dose, it is always possible to go to the Victor Hugo hall until July 2nd. To find out where to go after this date, the list of vaccination locations is available on the website www.impfen.lu
