Eintracht Frankfurt: Striker decision to be made this week – EINTRACHT FRANKFURT
Officially, the transfer window is not yet open. Nevertheless, Eintracht Frankfurt already has a backlog of strikers!
Rafael Borré (26), the goalscorer from the Europa League final (6:5 against Glasgow Rangers), and France jewel Randal Kolo Muani (23/free transfer from Nantes) are already there. But there should be more.
“Something will definitely happen on the offensive,” sporting director Markus Krösche (41) announced in an interview with SPORT BILD last week. Specifically, he has several promising candidates.

The SBU has agreed on a binding three-year contract with Bochum’s Sebastian Polter (31) since the end of the season. The top scorer scored ten goals for VfL Bochum last season and is expected to cost around two million euros. But the transfer has been up in the air for weeks.
The same applies in the fall Lucas Alario (29). The Argentine, who has scored 58 competitive goals for Bayer Leverkusen since 2017, will definitely change clubs. Eintracht has been working on him for months. Good for Frankfurt: Alario initially looked more at Serie A in Italy and especially LaLiga in Spain. Meanwhile, Champions League participant Frankfurt is in pole position. Alario is flattered by the intense courtship.
Thanks to a clause, it would cost around seven million euros. His environment can already be so far in the talks that an agreement was thought possible last weekend.
Both Alario and Polter are now hoping for a decision by the end of the week. But they have to wait. Namely on Eintracht’s third storm candidate and desired player Wout Weghorst (29) from FC Burnley. Coach Oliver Glasner (47) knows the Dutchman from their time together at VfL Wolfsburg, who scored 45 goals in 84 games between 2019 and 2021.
Weghorst would be available on loan, therefore cheaper than Alario in the short term. And therefore more interesting for Eintracht. The problem: Weghorst is with the Dutch national team until Wednesday. A decision about his future should only be made afterwards.
Before the Winter World Cup, Weghorst will definitely get away from Burnley, who have been relegated to the Premier League, and present himself for the national team at your top European club. He is approached by clubs from several leagues, including Besiktas Istanbul. However, Weghorst himself does not want to go there.
If all the cards are on the table for him too, Eintracht wants to decide the storm issue in the next few days after consulting coach Glasner and have the new center forward under contract until training starts on June 27th. It is also possible that two of the three candidates will come.
Because Eintracht wants to upgrade in the storm, other attackers are about to say goodbye. Gonçalo Paciência (27) is said to be leaving the club after four years. Young professional Ali Akman (20) is awarded.
Ex-U21 national striker Ragnar Ache (23) is already on loan to relegated Fürth. FC Utrecht was also on him. With the Holland club, talks about a loan were already very far, before it was Fürth.
It is possible that the storm traffic jam is slowly dissipating…
