The bee guard awarded Prague 12 for meadow vegetation
The activities of the Prague 12 district during the establishment of flowery meadows were praised on 13 June by the Včelí stráž association at the Senate Standing Committee on Rural Development. According to the chairman of the association, Jiří Cafourek, the city district expresses bees by sowing meadow herbs that are honey-bearing.
“The flowers of honey herbs not only light up Prague 12, but also serve as food for bees, bumblebees and other insect nectar collectors,” says Deputy Mayor Eva Tylová. Lawns in the Kamýk and Lhotka housing estates in Prague 12, which were damaged by drought, a dose of the Prague 12 district with creeping clover and horned scorpion. Meadows were also sown on the lands of the city district in the area of Cholupice and Točná. The sailor David Ježek planted a regional mixture of meadow herbs prepared by experts from the Prague City Hall in a field near a memorable oak tree and in a wetland.
“Many thanks to colleagues from the Department of the Environment, with whom we dose lawns. We have moved some areas to meadows and mow them twice a year to ensure the development of flowering herbs. In several devastated places, such as Levského, we re-planted the meadow street, ”adds Deputy Mayor Tylová.
