For a decade, Tahiti Fashion Week, an annual event and showcase of Polynesian fashion and culture, has taken place over 3 days. 3 evenings during which the cultural riches of the fenua are highlighted as well as the know-how of local creators and artists.
This event saw more than 30 creators and craftsmen who revealed their most beautiful creations to the general public. Thousands of people take part in the various meetings during this exceptional week. It is of course under the leadership of stylist Alberto Vivian that the candidates seize them parade in the colors of Polynesian fashion but also of the international guest designer, Olivier Theyskens. Remember that Tahiti Fashion Week, which was canceled in 2020 and then in 2021, due to the health crisis, is an opportunity for many local designers, more than 120 since the first edition, and the 30 partners present since its creation, to promote their know-how and their styles.
Brave Model Management, an agency dedicated to the models and talents of tomorrow, allows the winners, as every year, to travel to Milan to carry out a series of photo tests, thus realizing their young girl’s dream by integrating the prestigious team of models.
The sublime Tevai is the big winner of this 8th edition, a victory that surprised the young girl “ I was super excited, it was really unexpected, I’m really happy. The three evenings were great, stressful but for the Poerava evening, I gave it my all. I didn’t want to give myself false hope, so I was preparing not to be on the catwalk, it’s really a big surprise to be the winner of the Tahiti Fashion Week contest. »
Noa and Tiare, respectively second and third winners of the agency’s competition, were not unworthy and will also be applauded by the public. Exceptionally, the jury decided to award a special “New Face” prize to the very photogenic Leelou who accompanied the three winners.
A little stressed at the start of the evening, Alberto is relieved: “ Ia ora na and thank you to the public, as said in “Sposa bagnata sposa fortunata”, the evening started with the rain but that means that this event promised to be beautiful. I was especially afraid that the young girls would slip on the catwalk and for the creations of the designers. But finally thank you the good god, he gave us all this beauty as a gift. »
Maiti Rossoni, director of the Exotic Garden agency and partner of the event, had to deal with the weather so that the evening took place without major problems: ” Our mission is to organize, assist and set up everything related to placement, atmosphere, music, and scenography. We can talk about 3 evenings with a receptive audience. We were lucky on the first 2 evenings to have exceptional weather. The last evening was very popular with the public despite the periods of rain. We had to improvise to adapt to the weather conditions. We had Alberto and Agnès who organized a parade with the umbrellas so that the models could function with class taking into account the bad weather. »
