Russia will take part in the WTO ministerial meeting
On June 12, the twelfth ministerial conference of the World Trade Organization begins in Geneva, which takes place every two years and is the highest body of the organization that complies with the rules of the WTO. It will last from 12 to 15 June.
Russia is taking part in the ministerial conference for the fourth time as a full member, but for the first time after joining the delegation, the minister will not enrich – this time the deputy minister of economic development of the Russian Federation became the head of the delegation Vladimir Ilyichev. In 2013 and 2015, the delegation function protected Alexey Ulyukaev (being the head of the Ministry of Economic Development), in 2017 – Maxim Oreshkin (also became the head of the Ministry of Economic Development).
The previous WTO Ministerial Conference was held in December 2017 in Buenos Aires (Argentina). The meeting of the twelfth WTO Ministerial Conference will be held in the summer of 2020 in the capital of Kazakhstan, Nur-Sultan, but the event was canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic. In March 2021, it was decided that the conference would be held in Geneva from November 30 to December 3, 2021, but due to necessity, it was also postponed to June 2022.
As reported, the Ministry of Economic Development soon announced a contribution to the draft updated strategy of the RF strategy in the WTO, which refers to the strategy for Russia.
He instructed the President of the Russian Federation to prepare such Vladimir Putin against the backdrop of the prohibitions of a number of Western countries regarding Russian exports.
