The Good Day Moldova Association organizes an anti-bullying camp with middle school and high school students from rural areas in Suceava and Botosani counties.
The SI (N) GUR – ANTI-BULLYING CAMP project is part of the series of projects carried out by the Good Morning Association in the area of Moldova. In May, Good Morning Moldova organized the Health Caravan, a mobile medical service for people in difficulty in 23 villages in Iasi and Vaslui counties.
Iasi, June 3, 2022: Good Morning Moldova launches the sixth regional goal-seeking project is to reduce the phenomenon of bullying in rural areas of Moldova. Together with the Association of Schools of Our Villages, Good Morning Moldova wants to organize an anti-bullying camp with creative and educational activities for rural students in Suceava and Botosani counties.
“There is no Romanian word for this dangerous phenomenon in Romania. But the halls and courtyards of the schools are full of “Fat is coming”, look how it looks, ahahaha “. And the “nerd”, the “glassesman”, the “new sucker”, the “weirdo”. A WHO report says school bullying places Romania in 3rd place in Europe in this dangerous regard. In June, at #ZDBMoldova, together with the Schools of Our Villages, we take the children to the anti-bullying camp. Let’s listen to them, teach them how to manage the relationships in their micro-universes, guide them. We take them to a great place on vacation, a place where they can feel safe. Where each of them can feel safe, not alone. ”mentions Melania Medeleanu, co-founder of the Wellness Day Association.
According to the same WHO report from 2019, 400,000 students in Romanian schools are victims of bullying. Compared to the number of students in that job, 1 in 8 students suffers physical or mental aggression from colleagues. At the same time, the first national study on bullying, launched in 2016 by the Save the Children Association, does not show that 73% of Romanian students witnessed a bullying situation. All these figures are quite worrying, especially because of the impact that this phenomenon has, both on the physical health and, especially, on the mental health of children.
The budget required for the implementation of the project SI (N) GUR – ANTI-BULLYING CAMP – ZDBMoldova is 12,000 euros and is provided by Temad and Isopan.

“I think we all went through short or longer episodes as adults in which we felt humiliated, cornered or simply ashamed. Maybe it happened to us on the street, at work, or even in the family. Imagine that a child or young person has this experience – multiply your feelings x10 and you will find out how the teenager is living these moments. For them, the camp of personal power appeared, the first edition. A magical place, we propose it, of transformation, knowledge and healing. We will work with emotions, with ourselves, with thoughts and with a unique awareness in the life of the participants about them and their strength. Because true power never lies in aggression. It lies in discovery, compassion, communication and awareness. ” declares Anca Năstase, founder of Our Village Schools.
Bullying is not just an act of physical aggression, it can take many forms. The camp organized by the Moldova Wellness Day Association together with the Schools of Our Villages will take place between June 20 and July 2, 2022 at Cabana Colții Ghimbavului in Argeș County. All participants come from schools in Suceava and Botoșani counties and will be chosen following a selection process by the partner NGO. Camp activities will be based on non-formal education tools such as storytelling, theater-forum, role-playing and improvisation, as well as hiking, dancing, sports, teamwork, mind and body relaxation exercises and personal empowerment. . . Camp trainers, certified coaches and communication specialists will help young people to discover themselves from several perspectives, to increase the value of the estimated self, to understand the causes of aggression and bullying, how to manage verbal aggression. , physical and emotional, how to react and how to integrate and heal these traumas in their lives.
