Until June 3, Science…
Until June 3, Sciences Po Bordeaux hosts for three days the National Meetings of the Inter-University Network of the Social and Solidarity Economy (RIUESS) which mobilize many participants, both students, researchers, elected officials and businesses, “to prepare for the transitions of tomorrow’s world”.
Another factor favored the holding of this event. This is the creation, in 2020, within the Institute of Political Studies of Bordeaux (IEP), of a chair “Territories of the ESS” (TerrESS) directed by Timothée Duverger, associate lecturer and, moreover, technical adviser to the cabinet of the mayor of Bordeaux.
The participants reflected on an economy bringing together companies “around a model of democratic governance in which the search for profits makes it possible to meet an objective of social utility or collective interest”. In this context, the Bordelais Yannick Puissot, elected manager of Coop and bat, an activity and employment cooperative based in Lormont, was able to share its experience.
This SCOP, which belongs to its employees, brings together 125 building contractors within a collective which offers them both a legal entity and the possibility of pooling certain services. “They are part of a network based on common values enabling them to find help to develop their business,” explains Yannick Puissot. The members of the cooperative also plan to build their new head office in Bassens in a sustainable way using wood, earth, straw and recycled materials.
