OL Mercato: Cenk Ozkaçar on the lookout for a good project
After a season spent on loan at Oud-Heverlee Leuven in Belgium, Cenk Ozkacar found OL. While waiting for the summer preparation, he spoke about his future in the Turkish media IHA. The central defender says he is entirely at the disposal of Olympique Lyonnais for next season. However, he confirmed discussions between his representative and the management of the Rhone club, on his personal situation. “My manager continues to negotiate on the Lyon side. As an OL player for the new season, I think I’m going to prepare. But we’ll see what happens next.”, said Cenk Ozkaçar, in remarks reported by Foot Mercato. “We don’t just think about my own opinion, but also about acting and planning in accordance with the thinking of my club and my leaders. I can only say that I want to be in a good project, ”said the Turkish international hope (6 caps).
OL Mercato: Undesirable in Lyon, Ozkaçar transferred this summer?
Recruited by OL from Altay SK in Turkey, in August 2020, Cenk Ozkacar had joined the Lyon reserve. But, following the stoppage of the amateur championship, he had only made 2 appearances in National 2 with the team of Gueïda Fofana. After a white season (2020-2021) in France, the 21-year-old back found playing time in Belgium during the 2021-2022 financial year. He took part in 32 games in the Jupiler Pro League and started as many times. Author of 2 goals in the jerseyOud-Heverlee Leuven, Cenk Ozkaçar has met the expectations of the leaders of the Belgian club. It is therefore not excluded that the 11th elite championship in Belgium negotiates its final transfer.
Recruited €1.5m, the Turk, under contract with OL until June 30, 2025, is now worth €2m on the transfer market. Note that Ozkaçar played only 10 minutes in the Coupe de France in April 2021, with the professional team of Les Gones in two years.
