burst of participation in Spain, Portugal, Andorra and Monaco
The French of the Iberian Peninsula were able to start voting for their future deputy, thanks to electronic voting. And there are already more of them than for the previous legislative: more than 19% of voters have already voted.

The online vote ended this afternoon with 23.55% participation of those registered on the electronic list in the 5th constituency of French nationals living abroad (Spain, Portugal, Andorra, Monaco), that is to say voters who provided their e-mail address. The equivalent therefore of 19.10% of the total number of registrants.
Participation already exceeds that of the 2017 legislative (15.94%), and almost reaches that of 2012 (20.39%). It will be necessary to add the participation in the postal vote and that of the vote at the ballot box which will be held on Sunday.
If the abstention looks, as always, weaker than in France, the deputies of the French of the Iberian peninsula will probably be a little better elected than their predecessors. Could it be the Manuel Valls effect as some think? The candidacy of the former Prime Minister, who must face the dissident and outgoing deputy Stephane Vojetta, effectively put a spotlight on the election and on the constituency. The option of electronic voting, available in 2012 but not in 2017, has also undoubtedly allowed more voters to express themselves, some living sometimes very far from their polling station. Worldwide, 17% of voters voted online for this first round of legislative elections.
Voting at the ballot box on Sunday will make it possible to verify whether the dynamic is confirmed. For French people from the province of Barcelona, it will be held between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. at Camp Nou, Auditorio 1899 Barça, Carrer Aristides Maillol, Accès 14.
