Prague is under enormous pressure

Speech at the 25th meeting of the Chamber of Deputies on 31 May 2022 on the government’s bill on further measures in connection with the armed conflict in the territory of Ukraine caused by the invasion of the troops of the Russian Federation.
Thank you, Mr Vice-President. Ladies and gentlemen, I will cut it short. I wanted to talk here about constructive realistic opposition and how we perceive it, but I will cut it to just two points. The first point concerns Prague and that relocation. So I wanted the Minister of the Interior and I didn’t want to use the factual, because I wouldn’t react to anyone in front of me, but I wanted to ask in my contribution how the relocation is the positive motivation, as we all agreed, how I understood from press monitoring how it is conceived. Because Prague really is under a lot of pressure. At the moment, it may not be so visible in the accommodation except for the Central Station and the like, and it is solved in some way, but since September it can be noticeably seen in the school area, health care and the like, where secondary capacities in Prague will not be . So I’m saying this here, regardless of whether I’m an opposition MP and an opposition representative in Prague or not. This means how relocation, or positive motivation, is really conceived as if in practice.
The second point, and I’m shortening it as much as possible so that we can conclude. The second point I would like to subscribe to is the amendment that my colleague Ryba has already presented here, number 838, which is actually the answer to what I would call the principle of collective guilt, so that we can deal with individual cases of some Russian citizens. Definitely on me and on you, because I saw that you were there in a copy, I turned to a citizen Ivan Rulík, for example, and these are really some personal matters, which were simply individual matters that would be really good to deal on that individual basis and do not punish everyone completely. So it would be good for the government to have some option, as we suggest in that amendment, maybe you will have some other option, so here with it. So that there is no principle of collective guilt. To take into account the individual destinies of people who, for example, want to get in and simply do not have a chance to extend the visa and do not fall into any category.
So so many two notes. This means relocation in Prague and amendment 838. Thank you.
