7 out of 7 in Monaco: Russell continues his series
Zapping Autonews racing F1 2021: the driver grid
Discreet but very effective, George Russell again ensured a top 5 for Mercedes this Sunday in Monaco. He is the only driver to achieve this feat in 2022. He is also the only driver to have scored points on each course. Starting 6th on the grid, he was able to grab this top 5 thanks to overtaking Lando Norris during the pit stops.
He came back after the Grand Prix on the race conditions:
It was a difficult afternoon, very physical with the irregular driving of the car, and a long afternoon in different conditions.
The Briton remains satisfied with this 5th place, and wants to be positive for the future:
It was tough on the medium in the second part of the run, with a lot of graininess towards the end, but P5 is still a good result. We encountered some limitations of our car on this circuit, but we learned a lot and we can use this in the coming weeks to take another step forward.
