On Saturday, May 28, before midnight, units of Prague’s professional and volunteer firefighters intervened in a fire in Prague’s Lysolajy. The apartment and part of the roof of the family house under construction in Kovárenská Street were on fire. They brought the fire under control and evacuated the people.
The entire upper floor and part of the roof were on fire
“At the time of the first unit, the fire was in full swing, burning the rooms on the top floor of the house and part of the roof,” a spokesman for the Prague fire brigade said in a report for journalists Martin Kavka.
Due to the scale, a second level of alarm has been declared. Firefighters deployed three water jets, traffic lines and intervened in breathing equipment. Within minutes, the fire was located, but it took a long time to complete and dismantle the structures.
Professionals and volunteer firefighters intervened
“Three people were evacuated, one protected by a police officer from the troops,” specified in the report Kavka. “The extent of the damage and the causes of the fire are the subject of further investigation by fire and police investigators,” he added.
Professional firefighters and volunteers put out the fire. Of the professional firefighters, these were units from the Petřiny, Holešovice and Roztoky stations and the Prague Castle Fire Department. Volunteer firefighters from Lysolají also contributed.
