Zsolt Gyulay: There is no official competition, but the goal is the Budapest Olympics
Zsolt Gyulay, the chairman of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, said that there was still no question of an official candidacy.
The news is spreading like wildfire that Hungary is bidding for the 2036 Summer Olympics. However, Zsolt Gyulay, the chairman of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, only spoke at Saturday’s general assembly that Hungary has a moral obligation to prepare for the opportunity. Zsolt Gyulay he declared to the Hungarian Nationhe said there was still no question of a formal candidacy.
The Hungarian Nation wrote that Zsolt Gyulay, the chairman of the board elected this year, spoke about the fact that you have to commit. in addition to the goal of having the first European Olympics after 2024 in Hungary, if possible. This sentence was presented by the Index, according to its own information, according to which Hungary is bidding for the 2036 Olympics.
The Hungarian Nation took the facts in turn:
1.
It has now been decided whether the 2024 summer games will be hosted by Paris, 2028 by Los Angeles and 2032 by Brisbane, Australia. None of them have been the standard tender and voting structure for decades.
After Budapest withdrew from the 2024 competition in March 2017, only Paris and Los Angeles remained in competition, with the approval of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and a well-conceived interest, two countries agreed that Paris would be 2024 and Los Angeles 2028.
The IOC has no longer decided on the 2032 Games on the basis of a tender. After a preliminary survey, the organization’s executive committee recommended it to the Brisbane host, which was then voted on by the IOC General Assembly.
He is expected to decide on the venue for the 2036 Olympics in a similar procedure. Therefore, Budapest may be considered as a result of the dialogue with the IOC, during a non-classic tender.
2.
It would be too early to say that the 2036 Olympics will be in Europe. Rather, it is merely hope, chance, based on the cycle between continents, no fact, there is no such IOC resolution.
3.
The official application can be submitted by the member organization of the given country, in the case of Hungary, by the Hungarian Olympic Committee, which also requires a guarantee from the government of the given country and the host city. There is certainly no such agreement.
“There is nothing new during the day,” Zsolt Gyulay, president of MOB, told Magyar Nemzet. – It is stated in the MOB’s articles of association that we must strive to organize as many multisport events as possible, including the Summer Olympics as one of the most important events. Yes, I consider it our moral duty, our duty, to be prepared for the Olympics, because if the opportunity arises, we can take advantage of the competition. I hope that this dream of employing all Hungarian sports fans will be given in our lives, but there is no formal application all the time.
