Two plays at the Théâtre Garonne this weekend. the In Extremis festival / Hospitalities Do not stop. Since May 17, the event has offered up to 14 shows “coming from around the corner as well as from the other side of the world” in Toulouse. If many pieces are scheduled until June 11, two appointments are already scheduled for this weekend of the ascent. Two performances of “A Thousand Ways (part two) an meet” and three of “Silence Encombrant”.

A thousand paths (second part) a meeting until June 11 at the Théâtre Garonne

Last year, spectators took part in “A Thousand Paths: Part One”. It was a telephone performance during which two people discovered each other but without seeing each other and from a distance. This time the experience is almost the same. The participants will discover themselves but in “face-to-face” in a theater box and without an audience. “You are seated opposite another person, at the same table, separated by glass, a deck of cards close at hand. Between you two, a new type of theater is being invented”, specifies the press release of the Théâtre Garonne.

This experience then allows “to consider in a new light” what the participant believes he knows about someone or himself. “This exploratory experience is the second part of a triptych that questions the limits between strangeness and familiarity, distance and proximity”, explain the organizers. Note that two dates are on the program this weekend: one at 4 p.m. on Saturday May 28 and the other at 6:30 p.m. It takes about an hour and it is by reservation. Please note that the two people must not know each other.

A weekend with the piece Silence Encombrant by the Kumulus company

This second meeting of the weekend takes place at Port Viguerie from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 May. Bulky Silence is a show without words. “Slow down the world which is going faster and faster, curb this delirious consumption which produces mountains of waste of materials and humans which submerge us. Silencing the noises of the world, ”explains the Théâtre Garonne.

The summary of the play describes it as follows: “A globe, a car bonnet, a doll, a washing machine, all these broken objects came out of a dumpster and transported by force of the arms of fragile individuals , with an unshakeable will. With slow and hesitant steps, the face covered with dust, the clown, the policeman, the prostitute, the poet and the others drag themselves on the asphalt, soon transforming the space into an open dump, under the eyes of the spectators . In the screaming silence of sounds, debris scraping the ground, shocks and silent encounters”. The room takes place on Saturday May 28 at 7:30 p.m. and also on Sunday May 29 at 6 p.m.
