Sporting wins the women’s Portuguese Cup
Sporting at the stadium’s stadium after Saturday’s Cup of Portugal, to overcome the National football stadium (2-1). The goals were scored by Joana Marchão (penalty at 30 minutes) and Canadian team Chandra Davidson (62′). Carolina Rocha scored the goal of honor for Famalicenses, who still missed a penalty.
It is the third trophy in the queen of lionesses competition in five years, after the 2016-17 and 2017-18 achievements, at a time when Benfica was national and Sp. Braga won the League Cup. Sporting becomes the second club with the most trophies won, after 1º Dezembro, which has seven cups, but no longer has women’s football. The trophy was handed over by Marcel Rebelo de Sousa, who won last week, for FC Porto, for being in East Timor.
In a final refereed by Ana Afonso and with tickets for one euro – proceeds reverted to the Associação Corações Com Coroa -, the Football Federation and the Football Clubs and the Federation Clubs, did not beat the attendance record for women’s football14 22, Estádio da Luz on May 8 – and it was just that women’s football managed to do so. There were 13,894 people in the stands of Jamor to watch the final.
