ROC Midden Nederland & Goedopweg start cycling challenge; campaign for MBO students kicked off | Bunniks News
UTRECHT Vieres from ROC Midden Nederland and Goedopweg developed a campaign to get their fellow students on their bikes. On Tuesday they kicked off the campaign, with the help of deputy Arne Schaddelee and location director Rene Gelens, of ROC Midden Nederland in Amersfoort.
Research shows that MBO students cycle less often than HBO and WO students. They also use public transport much more often during rush hour. This is partly due to the travel distance, but certainly not the whole difference. Goedopweg wanted to tackle this issue with the students themselves. And so a collaboration was sought with ROC Midden-Nederland, where vitality and important themes are. Students of the Media Design course at ROC Midden Nederland developed a campaign with the help of Goedopweg. So for and by students.
The campaign consists of posters, social posts and video and calls on students to download the existing Ikfiets app and participate in the special challenge for MBO students.
Breaking habitual behavior is difficult and it takes a long breath. The aim of this campaign is therefore primarily aimed at the students. Goedopweg wants to learn together with the students what is needed in the long term for sustainable behavioral change. The interns built a campaign on what appeals to the target group, their fellow students, that they might want to change. They have opted for the Future theme and make clever use of gadgets, freebees and doing things together. By downloading the app and participating, students compete for great prizes, ranging from gift cards to a MacBook Air and from a gym subscription to a VanMoof E-Bike. The campaign runs from May 23 to September 12.
With about 1750 employees, ROC Midden-Nederland provides education for approximately 18,000 students. Our educational offer is divided into 13 MBO lectures, VAVO Lyceum and Business Training with locations in Utrecht, Amersfoort and Nieuwegein. We go for the success of our students. Working on that success together with our students and with municipalities, employers, (umbrella) organisations, educational and social organizations ensures a good connection with the professional practice of today and tomorrow.
In Goedopweg, the municipalities of Amersfoort and Utrecht, the province of Utrecht, Rijkswaterstaat Central Netherlands and the Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management are working together on an accessible and sustainable region of Utrecht, where it is pleasant to live, work and relax. “We offer fun, new and sleek ways of traveling that suit everyone’s travel needs.”
