Para-cycling Euro: Silver medal for the Milan Thomas and Jonas Goeman tandem
The male tandem Milan Thomas/Jonas Goeman won the silver medal on Saturday on day two of the European Para-cycling Championships in Schwanenstadt, Austria.
The Belgians bowed to the Dutch Bangma / Bos, with whom they had left the peloton.
“ We were surprised to be able to take such a distance immediately and rode very well with the Dutch duo“, says Milan Thomas. “The men were really strong, it was a tough fight. It’s great that we won the title of European vice-champion. Especially after yesterday’s disappointment, where we finished 1 second off the podium in the time trial, it’s amazing“.
For the ladies, the tandem Griet Hoet/Anneleen Monsieur, who took bronze in the time trial on Friday, finished just off the podium. The medals were for Great Britain, Ireland and Poland.
Finally, among the cyclists, Nils Verschaeren (C5) finished in 10th place. Louis Clincke (C4) was involved in an accident and was forced to retire.
The medal of Milan Thomas / Jonas Goeman brings to five the number of medals in this Euro.
