Ms. Ambassador of Germany answered whether Ukraine will receive “Cheetahs” and “Marders”
Ms. German Ambassador Anka Feldguzen said that Germany was ready to hand over heavy weapons to Ukraine, including self-propelled Cheetahs.
However, regarding the supply of Marder armored personnel carriers, the diplomat assured that this equipment is no longer used in Germany and needs to be repaired.
Feldguzen told about it live on the joint information marathon UA together on Ukrainian TV channels on May 28.
“There are two aspects. You can buy them (Cheetahs – ed.) Directly from the manufacturer, but you need the government to give permission. I think now the process is over. They (supplies) have already been approved“- said the German ambassador.
She also expressed the opinion that the decision to transfer the Marders to Ukraine is not hampered in Berlin, but quite another.
Those “Marders” have been parked for 10 years, they can’t fight. They need to be repaired first and then handed over. I don’t know the details, but our decision was final – we will hand over heavy weapons. I think it will be, “Feldguzen said.
1 In early May, Ukraine offered Germany to approve a land lease to quickly obtain 88 tanks “Leopard”, BMP “Marder”, self-propelled howitzers and more.
