McLaren broke the curfew this Friday evening in Monaco
The McLaren team broke the curfew overnight from Friday to Saturday at the Monaco Grand Prix, the scene of the seventh round of the 2022 Formula 1 world championship.
This Friday evening, McLaren team personnel are inside the circuit limits as the curfew put in place by the FIA prohibits access to the paddock for all team members each race weekend during a specific period. The Woking team has therefore broken this rule (certainly to repair Daniel Ricciardo’s car which was damaged in EL2), but it will not suffer in any way since it has used the second of its two authorized exceptions for the season.
” Last night [vendredi]McLaren team personnel, who are associated with the operation of the car, are within the confines of the circuit during the eleven-hour period which began at 23:00
on May 27, fourteen hours before the scheduled start time of EL3 and ending three hours before the scheduled start time of EL3 at 10:00 a.m. on May 28. » can we read in an FIA report this Saturday.
“This was the second of two individual exceptions allowed for the McLaren team in this 2022 Formula 1 season and therefore no action needs to be taken. »
Regarding the number of exceptions granted to teams, the FIA has divided Grand Prix weekends into three periods this year. Each period has a different number of exceptions before a penalty. Thus, during period 1 eight exceptions are granted, during period 2 six exceptions are granted and during period 3 (which is closest to EL3) two exceptions are granted before punished.
