A 100% locavore address settles in the center of Toulouse

Sugar Mizzy May 28, 2022

“Local eating” is gaining ground on the plate. To promote local food, a unique 100% local and 100% digital street food offer has just emerged in Toulouse. Good news for locavores in the Pink City.

Few locavore offers offered on delivery

Its name is “The Terroir Club”. Launched in May, this catering offer could revolutionize the consumption habits of Toulouse residents. While the French are increasingly asserting their attachment to local products and the meal delivery market is exploding, accelerated by the health crisis, locavore catering offers are still weak, if not non-existent, on the delivery market. In Toulouse. It is to address this problem that Le Terroir Club was designed. The idea germinated in the minds of two Toulouse residents, former TBS students.

It was in 2019, after a visit to the capital, that the two friends Sophie Briqueler and Thomas Robert decided to carry out a joint entrepreneurial project, in connection with food and innovation.

We met various Occitan actors of committed food and we realized that no one offered a local and modern fast food offer on delivery platforms, despite the strong development of this distribution channel and the tremendous richness of the region. of Occitania, France’s leading agricultural region”, explains Thomas Robert in a press release sent to L’Opinion Indépendante.

The region in the spotlight with a Toulouse duo

It was enough for the duo Toulouse to create the Terroir Club The objective: to take advantage of good regional products and seasonal while valuing the remuneration for the producers. In its DNA, the Terroir Club guarantees 95% of ingredients from the region Occitania, the remaining 5%, mainly condiments, from France or neighboring countries such as Spain. In the kitchen, a chef from the traditional restorationtakes care of sublimating the dishes.

Duck from the South-West, Trout from the Pyrenees, Black pork from Bigorre, Lacaune ham, Tarbais beans, Quercy melon… the region. The list of ingredients is also indicated as well as the main ones that are the pride of the restaurant. At first, two offers are available, for lunch: the Occibòls (a bowl made up of Occitan seasonal products) and the Occipans (all the flavors of Occitania in a gourmet bread, finely toasted garnished with flavors from the region ) . For each of them, two meat versions, one based on fish and a vegetarian version are offered.

A digital offer at the forefront of new modes of consumption

Furthermore, the Terroir Club wants to be an offer at the forefront of new modes of consume. Located at 1 rue Saint Joseph, in the heart of the Jardin des Plantes district, the local Terroir Club, like the dishes on offer, has been specially designed for delivery and Click & Collect.

We wanted to position ourselves in this segment with an innovative approach. This is how the Terroir Club project was born, with the desire to democratize local eating and our dear Occitan region, by granting the first 100% regional fast food offer designed for delivery”, explains Sophie Briqueler.

Thus, at Terroir Club, the entire ordering and payment process is done on smartphones, whether on the dedicated website terroirclub.fr for take-out orders or via delivery applications such as Deliveroo and Uber Eats.
