Taxis, e-scooters, car sharing in Berlin: BVG wants to further expand the Jelbi mobility platform – Berlin
The Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) want to further expand their mobility platform Jelbi. According to the BVG in an answer to a question from the FDP parliamentary group in the House of Representatives, around 25 mobility providers in Berlin have expressed their interest and are to be more closely integrated into the Jelbi app, as the “Berliner Morgenpost” (Friday) reported.
The app can be used, among other things, to book e-scooters, bicycles and car-sharing vehicles, buy tickets for buses and trains and order taxis.
Since the offer was launched three years ago, 13 mobility offers with around 60,000 vehicles have been integrated into the app. The process is currently running for four providers. On average, it takes eight months to integrate a new provider into the app, from contract negotiations to the technical part.

The BVG requires sharing providers to meet a number of requirements. This includes a minimum fleet size in Berlin, which must then be available via Jelbi. For e-scooters and e-mopeds, around 500 is the lower limit, for bike sharing it is 1000 wheels.
Car-sharing providers whose cars may only be parked at fixed stations must have at least 50 cars, with station-independent car-sharing it is 150 vehicles. (dpa)
