Reporting to the Director, Privacy, ex-APAC, the Senior Manager, Privacy, ex-APAC will assist in the design and implementation of BeiGene’s global privacy program with a focus on the Company’s operations in the United States (US), in Europe and in new markets. Specifically, The Senior Manager, Privacy, ex-APAC, will assist the Privacy Office in the development, implementation and oversight of the company’s privacy policies, procedures, training programs and technology solutions. Additionally, this role will work with other members of BeiGene’s Legal & Compliance and IT teams on privacy and security-related matters, including responding to data incidents and developing scalable technology solutions and tools to support BeiGene’s continued growth with its… to support existing activities in the US, Europe and in new markets and regions. The position will be based at BeiGene’s site in Switzerland (Basel).
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Privacy Office in designing and implementing a coherent global privacy policy architecture to facilitate the consistent adoption and enforcement of privacy compliance principles and controls at the country, region, state, and local levels.
- Assist BeiGene’s Privacy Office in creating and maintaining dashboards, reports, and presentations for various corporate audiences, including the Global Privacy Steering Committee, Compliance Committee, Executive Committee, Country Management Teams, and Board of Directors.
- Assist in the identification, collection, management and reporting of privacy metrics required to escalate and mitigate privacy risks at BeiGene across commercial, medical, clinical development, G&A and other functional groups.
- Developed and implemented guides, work manuals, templates and forms with the aim of embedding privacy controls in BeiGene’s operations.
- Encourage regular exchanges with privacy champions and incorporate feedback and observations into existing or new policies and procedures.
- Support BeiGene’s businesses and operations with data protection impact assessments, data protection impact assessments and transfer impact assessments, and mitigation of identified risks.
- Manage and maintain central privacy mailboxes that receive privacy-related requests and requests for project support.
- Oversee the implementation and subsequent management of data protection processes on OneTrust, including data subject rights and data protection impact assessments.
- Assist in triaging, escalating, managing and responding to data protection incidents.
- Develop and maintain platform communications such as privacy newsletters and the privacy sections of the Legal and Compliance and Privacy team intranet pages.
- Support the development and periodic review of privacy training programs for new and existing employees to ensure a thorough understanding and understanding of privacy laws that affect the Company’s operations and how business practices can be conducted appropriately.
- Assist procurement, finance, IT and other functions with third-party risk management, including vendor diligence screening, vendor training and distributor audits.
Required Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (preferably life sciences, law, computer science, data analytics or related disciplines).
- Has privacy and/or data protection certification (CIPP, CIPT or CIPM by the IAPP).
Skills and Qualifications:

- Has privacy and/or data protection certification (CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPT or CIPM from the IAPP).
- A minimum of 3-5 years of full-time data protection experience, preferably in the biopharmaceutical industry and/or a nationally recognized law firm or consulting practice.
- Strong working knowledge and experience with privacy and data protection laws (e.g. GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA).
- Experience and expertise in project management.
- Experience and expertise in data protection technology tools (e.g. OneTrust).
- Excellent written/oral communication skills and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain solid relationships/connections across the organization.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with enthusiasm and responsibility.

- PC skills, including MS Office Suite.
