San Marino exportable model for early diagnosis
San Marino can be one international basis for the early diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease? Question at the center of the conference “A bridge between minds”sponsored by State Secretariat for Healthfrom which the second phase of a study, coordinated by the San Marino researcher Francesco Tamagniniand which since 2016 involves theUniversity of San Marino, ISS and the English academic realities of Reading, Exeter and Birmingham.
The conference, structured on a fruitful comparison between the experiences of scholars and clinicians from the United Kingdom and the Department of Neurology of the State Hospital, pursues the objective of verify the possibility of evolving the project from the preclinical to the outpatient focusing on the progressive creation of a real business of selection on an enlarged sample of the population through the use ofelectroencephalogramtool that would allow to highlight useful elements on the presence of potentials first signs of Alzheimer’s disease.
An opportunity therefore for network on a true nature that represents for the Republic sanitary emergency – are affected 400 people with more or less severe symptoms, assisted and recorded in the register of the Neurology Unit – but also for helping families and communitiesas well as facilitate the country in providing intervention measures.
