Foodmaker (Oevel) and Delhaize open new restaurant in Brussels
Delhaize and Foodmaker from Oevel, the healthy restaurant chain and producer of ultra-fresh meals, are opening today together with the third quality Foodmaker restaurant in Brussels.
It is located in the beautiful new headquarters of BNP Paribas Fortis (Montagne du Parc) where external customers are also welcome. “Delhaize and Foodmaker want to work together on working people.
Healthy food must be accessible and affordable for everyone, including in the workplace,” says a proud Lieven Vanlommel, founder and CEO of Foodmaker.
Nowadays, more and more people are opting en masse for a healthier exercise and a balanced diet. A consequence of this is the turnover increase of more than 50% of Foodmaker’s products in Delhaize supermarkets in the first quarter of this year.
Foodmaker and Delhaize have therefore joined forces to make healthy food even more accessible: Foodmaker’s restaurants are more than ever ‘the place to be’ for those who like to eat healthy and tasty.
Solution for every business
Foodmaker is already present in the head offices of Proximus and Engie in Brussels and wants to further expand this offer with Delhaize. “Because the demand from companies is enormous,” says Lieven Vanlommel, founder and CEO of Foodmaker.
“By offering healthy food, an employer keeps its staff fit and there is less absenteeism. People are more aware of what they eat and demand a healthy alternative from their employers.
That is why we have opted for a location with many offices nearby for this new restaurant. Due to its unique location in the BNP Paribas Fortis building, the new restaurant can accommodate both bank-insurer employees and company employees.”
New in the Foodmaker restaurants is their ‘Back on track plan’. At Foodmaker, too, customers can gain access to nutrition tailored to their activity and be guided by Foodmaker’s sports dieticians.
Both healthy food should not be a matter of having. Both Delhaize and Foodmaker have the ambition to make healthy food.
That’s why I met the opening of this restaurant in Brussels to add a new chapter to our story together,” said Xavier Piesvaux, CEO of Delhaize.
From farm to fork
Sustainability is a priority at both Delhaize and Foodmaker. In his restaurants, Food Maker is exclusively healthy and prepared: one by one, made with as much organic soil as possible.
Enthusiasts can also eat 100% vegetarian.
Foodmaker grows its own organic herbs and vegetables in Assent near Diest, which are used in as many projects as possible. Foodmaker is also the only company in Belgium with a certificate for biocyclic vegan agriculture. Foodmaker recently started testing grain cultivation on their second farm in Laakdal.
Living in an Urban Jungle
Delhaize is the main franchisee of the restaurants and is responsible for the operation and further development, Foodmaker is responsible for the unique look and feel of the various locations.
The interior is always transformed into an ‘Urban Jungle’: nature is literally drawn in through a combination of wooden elements, large windows and exotic house plants.
This new restaurant will become a real ‘eye-catcher’, partly due to its location in the beautiful architectural building of BNP Paribas Fortis. Foodmaker was guided by media and marketing house Hotel Hungaria to ‘pimp’ their look & feel in the restaurants.
Ubereats, Deliveroo and TakeAway
Customers can also go to Foodmaker Montagne du Parc for food ‘on the go’ or a take-away drink. The Foodmaker affiliates are partners of meal delivery platforms such as Ubereats, Deliveroo and TakeAway so that customers can easily have all that healthy goodies delivered to their home.’
