Food technology in Innsbruck and Seville
MCI and the University of Seville offer a joint course on the food industry.
Food industry and nutritional science are the core topics of a new double degree program offered at the MCI in Innsbruck. The Food Technology, Industry and Nutrition master’s program was created by combining the MCI Food Technology and Nutrition master’s program with the University of Seville’s Food Technology and Industry master’s program. With the Double Degree Master, students have the opportunity to get to know the new perspectives of both partners in the field of food technology.
The new Master’s program comprises a total of five semesters. The first year of study is completed by the students at their respective home locations in Innsbruck or Seville, the third and fourth semester at the other university. The master’s thesis is on the program in the fifth semester. This is written by all participants at the MCI in Innsbruck. The committee for the master’s examination is made up of representatives from both universities.
The joint master’s program of the MCI and the University of Seville is one of the first double degree programs to be developed by the partners of the Ulysses program in the next few years. Ulysses is one of 41 university cooperations selected by the EU Commission, in which a total of six European universities are involved. In addition to the MCI and the University of Seville, the University of Genoa, the University of Côte d’Azur, the Technical University of Košice (Slovakia) and the Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences (Finland) are members of Ulysses. The aim is to promote mobility, offer company internships and carry out international research projects. The development of double and joint degrees should play a central role.
