Twenty thousand children and adolescent patients are employed by the FNM every year. Walk with white fractures, but with so-called neurological and oncological diseases, which make them sick for long months. The therapeutic garden should serve them first.
The hit is open to all children who we have in the hospital, even though it was originally intended for long-term patients, especially those oncology, the head of the Department of Children’s Hematology and Oncology, 2nd Faculty of Charles University and FNM Lucie rmkov.
For children, it is an opportunity to return to a busy life during their stay in the hospital, accompanied by the fact that her patients tend to be hospitalized for several months and often repeatedly.
He also appreciated that he had the opportunity to rehabilitate patients by moving the walls. According to her, this is a much better form for children not practicing inside hospitals, where it soon gets bored.
A novelty for old children is, for example, a hit on ptanque or fitness machines, which are also available on public hitch in Prague, rmkov describes.
These elements replaced, for example, minigolf, which was here, but the children did not use it. During operation, it turned out that some elements are more used and some less, and the basics of this hit. Piblin’s aunt’s garden has changed, rmkov says.

The reconstruction was intended to make the stay in the gardens more pleasant in the summer months, when it is very hot here. Therefore, new water is introduced in the gardens, which feeds the birds and the shallows. In addition, the space is newly covered by sunny sails and the gazebos will offer relaxation in the cold.

For the youngest children is the safety area, which consists of the shapes of two children. Children can ride on this area on the slopes. Indians are a visible example when viewed from the top floor of the hospital, where the oncology department is located, its corridors are also decorated with Indian motifs. The clinic became an Indian village in Prrich in 2019. Both designs were designed by animator and illustrator Luk Urbnek.
Potky in the 70s
Josef Kouteck, who was at the birth of the oncology clinic at the National Hospital, started with the idea of a relaxation corner for children in the 1970s. With the help of Milan Vcha and Rudolf Riedlbauch, they had a rest area built for the youngest patient in the city’s bottom town, dominated by a stone pond with statues of exotic invites. This has been preserved in the gardens to this day, even though there is no water in it.
The resulting space will be completely transformed in 2014, when a new garden was created here, on the initiative of the then first Department of Children’s Hematology and Oncology, 2nd Medical Faculty, Charles University and FNM, Vladimír Komrsky.
