ALPINE REGIONAL FORMULA IN MONACO. FRENCH DAVID AND BRAZILIAN BEGANOVIC IN POLES
With a superb last lap of the Monaco GP track, the young Dino Beganovic, managed to snatch the fastest time in Monaco qualifying for the Formula Regional by Alpine, obtaining pole position for race 2, scheduled for Sunday morning, and the second position on the starting grid for the first race tomorrow Saturday.
The Swedish driver from the Italian team Prema managed to win in group B, after a fine duel with the transalpine Gabriele Minì, finally setting the decisive reference time in 1’29”459 in the last five minutes after a red flag which had interrupted the session!
Dino which indicated: “Pole position in Monaco is special. We put in an excellent performance that will allow us to start ahead of everyone in Sunday’s race. The team did an excellent job which allowed me to be competitive in a very hot session. It’s a good start to the season where we are also leading the provisional general classification.
On the contrary, Minì in the last bars was not so incisive, only keeping the second position for four thousandths, facing Gabriel Bortoleto. In the Top 5 of Group B, the fastest, we also find Mari Boya and Leonardo Fornaroli, who with the Trident team car occupied the third position a few thousandths from pole, but could not improve after the red flag.
Despite only setting the fourth fastest time overall, Frenchman Hadrien David secured pole position in Race 1, winning his Group A battle in qualifying against Kas Haverkort and Michael Belov .
The young Frenchman who recalled:
“Last year, I lost pole position on the last lap, and I did everything to redeem myself. This time I managed to be the fastest in my group at the very last minute thanks to a car and despite the heat. Tomorrow it will be great to start here in Monaco in front of the first lap. »
Among the most experienced drivers at the start, David intends to get back into the fight for the title after a start to the season without great results…
The one who spoiled his start to the weekend and very probably the results of the two events was Paul Aron, who hit the barriers in the first lap!
The Estonian driver did not mark any useful reference and will therefore start from 27th place in race 1, while he will not be present in the second heat. A heavy ‘double zero’ for the Championship standings, in which Beganovic can still improve and score big points!.
As happened last season, only the top 28 drivers will be allowed to start the two courses. The top nine from each group will feature in both races, monopolizing the front nine of the grid, while Roman Bilinski won the head-to-head with Joshua Dufek to start both races from 19th on the grid. gate (only the best of the tenth classified of the two groups would actually start both Saturday and Sunday).
Pietro Armanni, Santiago Ramos, Hamda Al Qubaisi and Aron (group A)Keith Donegan, Levente Revesz, Francesco Braschi, Lena Buhler and Cenyu Han (group B) thus qualified for race 1, while Joshua Dufek, Lorenzo Fluxa, Piotr Wisnicki, Dilano Van’t Hoff and Nicolas Baptiste (group A) and Victor Bernier, Owen Tangavelou, Matias Zagazeta and Axel Gnos (group B) qualified for the second course.
As well as Aron, Ramos and Han also found themselves on the rails, while Braschi, Van ‘t Hoff, Maceo Capietto and Bilinski brushed past him, reporting minor damage but enough to stop them early.
