The University of San Marino joins the European University Association and signs a memorandum with the Croatian University of Zagreb
Membership of the European University Association, entry into the UniAdrion association and the signing of a memorandum with the Croatian University of Zagreb have the characteristic recent activities of the University of the Republic of San Marino on the international front, implementing the opportunities offered by relations with other academic institutions and membership of the continent’s organizations. “The European University Association (EUA) – explains the Rector, Corrado Petrocelli – is the largest and largest association of universities in Europe”. With over 850 realities it represents, now includes 49 countries thanks to the entrance of the University of Titano, which has become a ‘full member’. “For us there are opportunities to participate in projects, events and other activities of exchange and mutual learning”, comments the Rector. “There are also unique possibilities for shaping European policies and initiatives affecting higher education and research. It is a matter of pride for us to have passed the selection and to add a further step to the progress of the internationalization area of the University of San Marino. We are increasingly oriented towards full and effective European and international integration ”. Joining the EUA goes hand in hand with joining the UniAdrion association, which involves 51 universities in initiatives such as training courses, post-graduate degrees and joint research projects in the Adriatic-Ionian region. Active in ambitions such as sustainable tourism and environmental quality, it promotes courses such as a summer school on the theme “Migration and Mobility in the Balkans” and the start-up school “E-Capital Culture”, dedicated to training the entrepreneurial skills of young people from the Western Balkans On the front of relations between individual universities, on 9 May a memorandum was signed between the University of San Marino and the University of Zagreb, one of the most consolidated academic realities in Croatia, founded in 1669. The agreement lays the foundations for the exchange of teachers and students, the creation of research projects and joint conferences, the realization of cultural initiatives and the promotion of seminars. The five-year agreement signed by the Rectors of the two realities, Corrado Petrocelli and Damir Boras, strengthens the collaborations international organizations involving the University of San Marino in countries such as China, Brazil, Switzerland, United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Iceland and Japan.
