The most important goal of the economic event, which took place within the framework of the 30th Festum Varadinum series of events, was to build business relations in the business sphere of Oradea and to establish relations between Hungarian business partners in the mainland and abroad.
Those interested were greeted by István Csüdöm, Head of the Oradea Regional Office of the Central European Economic Development Network Nonprofit Ltd. Bishop László Böcskei then greeted the participants, citing Pope Ferenc and explaining why the bishopric provided a venue for this event. “We can’t barricade ourselves into the sacristy, we have to be where life takes place, building bridges between each other,” he said. Andrea Telegdi’s Foreign Economic Attaché (Consulate General of Hungary in Cluj-Napoca) emphasized that, among other things, they are working to develop Hungarian-Romanian economic relations more dynamically and bring entrepreneurs closer together, and to think together through similar experiences and business meetings. .
Ödön Szabó, a member of the DAHR, emphasized the importance of addressing the representatives of the economic sphere and their partnership.
The head of the company, Péter Skapinyecz (CED Central European Economic Development Network Nonprofit Ltd.), also spoke, emphasizing the importance of information flow, openness and cooperation in difficult times. József Gönczi, President of ROVE, Géza Szabó, local manager of RMKT and Ildikó Tank-Szigeti, President of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs, also greeted the participants.
Dr. László Papp, Mayor of Debrecen, gave a lecture entitled Debrecen as the new regional economic center of Central Europe. He can make the future cloudy for the economic processes and developments in Debrecen: although he is optimistic. The city has extremely good facilities and its connections offer plenty of opportunities. All this can be felt in the convincing performance of the city, the county center of Hajdú-Bi has gained a good international reputation and has become a destination for working capital. This was also facilitated by the fact that the city, in cooperation with the Hungarian government, developed an appropriate growth strategy, the foreman explained. László Papp also pointed out that a background organization had been set up, and the industrial areas had been designated in such a way that this would not cause conflicts between investors and residents, nor would it burden the transport network. “Nothing prevents Debrecen and Oradea from thinking together about economic development issues,” the mayor added. László Papp’s system also mentioned that focusing on the efficient, expansive education and SME sectors are also components of success. The airport is also being developed and two major cultural investments are taking place in the city.
