Slovenia’s NLB will squeeze out minorities in Komercijalna Banka
LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), 26 May (SeeNews) – Nova Ljubljanska banka (NLB) [LJE:NLBR] plans to start squeezing out shares of Belgrade’s Komercijalna Banka [BEL:KMBN] does not yet own it, NLB said.
NLB reached the threshold for mandatory squeezing of minority shareholders in Komercijalna on 23 May, when it acquired 442,799 ordinary shares in Komercijalna banka and increased its stake in the Belgrade lender to 90.2%, the Ljubljana Stock Exchange said in a statement. on Wednesday.

Slovenska banka expects that the squeeze out of minority shareholders will have a neutral effect on the Group’s profit or loss, the NLB announced.
The increase in ownership in Komercijalna Banka to 100 percent is in line with NLB’s strategic guidelines, the Slovenian lender added.
On 30 December 2020, the NLB completed the purchase of an 83.23% ordinary stake in Komercijalna Banka for EUR 394.7 million (USD 421.9 million) and thus became the third largest banking group in Serbia. In April 2021, NLB raised its stake in Komercijalna banka to 88 percent after the purchase offer was completed.
