Slovak-Czech fairy tale with a strong cast. Why is it worth going to see? Táňa Pauhófová also revealed

Sugar Mizzy May 26, 2022

A new Slovak-Czech fairy tale Zakliata jaskyňa is coming to the cinemas. Why pay?

The release of the new Slovak fairy tale The Cursed Cave will be one of the important Slovak film premieres this year. The feature film with an international cast was created in difficult conditions, which the creators call one of the most demanding in life. is an original fairy tale title that will appeal not only to children but also to adult viewers.

Ada and Lena live with their father Buchvald in a village under the rocks. When it snows, they go to the salt cave to take their father’s lunch. However, they wander and after a short wandering they come across the heart of the cave, a beautiful ruby hall. So much wealth won’t let Lena sleep. One night he sneaks out of the house and heads to the cave with the intention of getting one of the rubies.

She is not discouraged by the ancient legend that whoever took even a single ruby from a cave would be cursed. However, Lena does not return from the cave and no one can find her at that time. No more people can get to the cave, because where there was a door before, there is now only a bare rock.

Fear and misery reign throughout the kingdom, people no longer have salt, and besides, they are afflicted by the fear of the white wolf that appeared the night Lena disappears, steals at night, and guards the cursed cave.

For the first time in history, Slovak film will also be shown in cinemas in Slovak distribution in a foreign language, specifically in Ukrainian dubbing. The cursed cave has a trailer in Slovakia in two language versions. You will be able to see it in cinemas on June 2, 2022.

Táňa Pauhófová about the fairy tale The Cursed Cave

Introduce your character.

Berta is against all the good we love. An ambitious, non-empathetic, ruthless, cold and cruel stepmother and queen, led only by a desire for power and property.

What was the filming, what do you remember?

We were in beautiful places and even though it was difficult at times, it was fabulous.

What intrigued you of the story of this fairy tale?

I was especially interested in the opportunity to play the villain. 🙂 And I love fairy tales.

Is the theme good and bad, as in this fairy tale, a never-ending theme in life? Are you meeting the team?

Rather, I ask, who doesn’t face it? :)) Unlike everyday life, however, it always ends well in fairy tales, which is very encouraging.

All plots are also forbidden topics. Why is it forbidden to us?

I’ve grown out of it, but, of course, it attracted me a lot. As if the mere fact that something or circumstances may not be added to the thing, it is necessary and adventurous. It’s not always worth it, you just come up with it with experience.

How did you work with Mariana Čengel Solčanská?

Mariana is a very strong personality, a clever woman who knows exactly what she wants. He has the film in his head even before we came to bed. You can hold everything firmly in your hands and it does not lose peace even in discomfort and tension. Admirable.

What will the child viewer take from this story?

We will ask the child viewer. 🙂 I like the idea that some secrets should remain a secret, that there is no need to be afraid of a brave and good person and that things are usually not as they seem at first glance, you just have to be patient to find them.

What’s different about filming a fairy tale and an adult film?

In the very atmosphere of filming. Everything is so … more playful.
