Unusual day and times for Formula 2 free practice: due to the busy program on the Monegasque track, these take place this Thursday at the end of the afternoon. If tomorrow the qualifications will be run in two groups to limit traffic, today the 22 drivers were on the track at the same time and we witnessed many aborted laps due to an inconvenience by another driver (but who did not had no other place to stand).
A few riders touched the rails lightly, without too much damage, like Doohan at the last corner for example. Others added yellow flags because of all rights, but there again fortunately without any damage: this is the case of Sato and Vips in Sainte Dévote, but also of Hughes at the last bend, who stopped his single-seater just before it hits the barriers.
In terms of lap times, the classification has changed regularly but Drugovich, Boschung and Hauger were three drivers who were still at the forefront in this session. All the drivers stayed long enough on the track, trying to gain as much experience as possible over these 45 minutes.
In the end, Felipe Drugovich is ahead of the ghost Ralph Boschung by two thousandths, with Dennis Hauger and Jakes Hughes also following in the same tenths as the leader. It is therefore very tight between the first four, then there is a gap before finding Liam Lawson, Jack Doohan and Jehan Daruvala. The gaps are still minimal at the end of the top 10 between Sargeant, Verschoor and Pourchaire, who are also in the same tenth.
