Is the voice of young researchers in Bulgaria heard? :: Investor.bg

There are many young researchers in Bulgaria with innovative ideas, but it is extremely important to have communication with business so that their ideas can be put into practice. This opinion was expressed in the show “Business Start” on Bloomberg TV Bulgaria Vadim RoshmanovChairman of the Association of Young Scientists, one of the founders of the information campaign “The Voice of Young Researchers”.

He emphasizes that the transfer of innovation in projects is important for the experience of young students, for their remuneration, as well as for the commercialization of innovation in business.

“One of the biggest chances is the transfer of innovation – what theoretical ideas are learned to be implemented, as business believes in them. This is extremely important. You know it takes 5-6 years. This is a waste of time for both the business and the young researcher. There is a gap and fear among young people, how to approach and implement their ideas, there is a break with business, “said Roshmanov.

According to him, the business is open to young researchers and I support them, but “I have to be brave, gather the team and stand up for my ideas.”

According to you, in Western countries, a theory or research project always works in sync with business from the very beginning. “Here, young researchers often work on articles without the support of business, because you are very much added by the articles themselves, but you also have to connect with business,” said the chairmen of the Association of Young Students.

Roshmanov mentioned a number of examples and successes from the research activities of young students in Bulgaria.

“We have a ‘Ambassadors of good example’ section included in the work program. We have a man in Plovdiv who has set up a company for eco and biodegradable packaging. A young scientist got involved with his idea of printing 100% anatomical skulls on a 3D printer and many students and learners on the page are learning about these skulls. In Ruse they presented a prototype of an agricultural autonomous robot, which is a design for fertilizing agricultural crops. There are many successful examples from all over the country, “Roshmanov said.

After a series of meetings with young scientists in the country, the association has created a database of researchers in each city.

“We are committed to creating a forum so that these young people can get involved in this platform and be able to exchange ideas, meet the start-ups and lead discussions,” he said.

Roshmanov is convinced that the student should be open to communication. “We thought that as early as 1919 this research potential was fragmented, not communicated. People from the institutes do not know each other if they do not meet at a forum. The pandemic also affected fragmented communication. “Our goal is to provoke this communication, because it will lead to more innovation,” he said.

Which platforms support research? What are the best examples in the implementation of 3D projects? At what level is science-state-business communication? With what civic sector can it contribute to the convergence of views? When will there be a working platform for digital collaboration between researchers to discuss changes in the law?
